Tap into the full power of Final Cut Pro's RT Extreme
Build your professional and affordable editing studio using the Aurora PipeHD™ with CCIR 601 resolution at uncompressed rates!
Primary Use
The Aurora PipeHD™ is the Hi-Def editor's dream: packing a powerful punch in a very compact package -- at an amazingly low price point!
Aurora's PipeHD™ is specifically designed to take full advantage of the Final Cut Pro RT Extreme architecture while providing the professional-level audio and video inputs and outputs that editors demand. This flexibility allows for a wide variety fo compression and Input/Output options. With RT Extreme, your RT effects capabilities scale with your CPU's power.
Design:
The Pipe™ family of cards represents a radical departure from traditional low-cost solutions. Aurora engineers have crafted a high-performance custom PCI interface specifically for doing video operations. Unlike solutions which use "off-the-shelf" PCI interfaces, the Pipe™ core is designed specifically for the demands of uncompressed video. We have painstakingly optimized every aspect of our PCI core for the highest performance in the latest G5 PCI-X environments. This core technology represents the baseline for future high-performance Aurora products.

Compatibility
Aurora's PipeHD™ is custom designed for QuickTime and Mac OS X, seamlessly integrating with Final Cut Pro and After Effects, providing ease of use and tightly integrated controls over the digitizing and playback drivers. See our FAQ for hardware requirement guidelines.
Because of the uncompressed-only nature of this card, significant resources are consumed by the video transfer even if the audio data is your primary concern. Therefore, the Aurora PipeHD™ is likely not the best choice for using with audio tools such as Digidesign's ProTools and Motu's Digital Performer. The IgniterX Lite, with it's MJPEG compression, is a more suitable product for audio-focused projects.
