It features eight independently programmable EIA-232 or 422 channels operating from 50bps to 38.4Kbps. An on-board 10MHz 68010 microprocessor, 16Kbytes SRAM and up to 256Kbytes of EPROM provide dedicated computing power to handle an aggregate throughput of 80Kbps. With SBE's COMUS I/O support software, the VCOM-8A can link up to 4 separate host CPUs on the VMEbus to eight asynchronous serial devices. VCOM-8A provides inexpensive connectivity for terminals and modems in VMEbus systems. |
