The Pipe™ family of video capture and editing cards are the first offering of products from Aurora designed around our very own custom designed PCI Controller. This allows us great flexibility and reliability when dealing with the heavy load of uncompressed SD video data. This custom controller was designed with HD in mind and also for future upgradeability via a simple Flash update which can be performed from your studio. This feature allows for the growth and extensibility of the Pipe™ family to handle changes to the architecture of future Macintoshes in a seamless manner. All Pipe™ products take advantage of Final Cut Pro's RTExtreme and are 100 percent QuickTime compatible. As the performance of your Macintosh increases so will the amount of Real Time effects. Each Pipe™ product features an Extended Mac Desktop on all of the video outputs so that you can see what your content will look like in any application. This is especially useful in applications which do not support a QuickTime Video Output Component such as Combustion and Photoshop. |
